The Thaw

With the  upcoming thaw (cross fingers), we look to begin this year’s principal photography, get the remainder of the pilot out, and take everyone by surprise.  In order to do this, we have a special thaw poll:

Rumors, Secrets, and Big Fat Lies

Yes, it’s America’s favorite game, “Rumors, Secrets, and Big Fat Lies,” wherein we talk about some of the amazing things within upcoming segments of The Adventures of Jack Uzi. The best part of this game is you get to play along, figuring out which are which!

  • Segment Four will be on the channel soon.
  • New “Making Of” footage will be coming up soon, so that people will get to see some more of the behind-the-scenes nonsense from us professionals.
  • Some time in the New Year, the channel will open up for public comment
  • Edward Snowden will be calling in on Skype to film his part in the series.
  • Some members of the cast and crew, during downtime on this project, are turning their talents and skills to some science fiction fan film.
  • No lizards have been harmed during the making of these videos.
  • You will be able to see some of us, and the calendars, making an appearance at ConFusion.

Any guesses which are which?

The Lost Weekend

We all have our days when events go in a different directions than expected; this has been one of those weeks for me. I don’t want to go into details, but I will say this: some good came out of it, and I will likely have more to show you as a result next week. Until then, I’m going to give you a slight hint in the picture below… See if you can guess.

Something to look at.

So it’s a rainy day here in Michigan, and our director is obsessed with six seconds of footage and you’d like something to watch. Well, if you click this link, you’ll go to our Making Of channel and take a look at some location footage. I don’t have much else to say right now… not yet… but see if you can guess what this mysterious van in Davenport, Iowa has to do with our series, in Michigan.

A mysterious van in Davenport, Iowa.

I should add that we’ve got less than a dozen calendars left now. They make great holiday gifts. Buy one!

Support, Technically

Hi everybody, as you’ve probably noticed, we’ve had some trouble with our channel, but much of this has to do with technical difficulties as opposed to our video editor dragging his feet and not being a cupid-hanging slobber-Nazi. (As an interesting side-note, the spell-check underlined the entirety of “slobber-nazi” with a lowercase “N.) While we wait for him to get his system working correctly (and wipe his slobber off the keyboard), check out some of the silliness on the “Making Of” channel.

Meanwhile, here’s a picture I know you’ll like.

Post 52: A Year of Jack Uzi

Hooray.  I made it this far, and this surprises me.  Why?  Well, I’m a rather absent-minded guy with a tendency to be distracted from focus by little things like hunger or mail notifications or just little things going “blip” in the corner of my screen.  This can pull me away from a task for hours.  This task has been part of a self-improvement kickstart that I have needed for at least ten years.  It has started with little things like decluttering my house, (despite also recluttering my house), building my confidence, and, of course, doing this blog.  Over the past few weeks, I’ve added a diet to the mix, and I’ve already lost a good 5-10 pounds, The goal here is to build confidence with discipline, and in doing so, prepare myself for a future where I do more of what I want to do and to do it better.

Meanwhile, the calendar proof is in my hands now, and the final version of the 2014 calendar   The reserved holidays have been added, as have been some national, international, and cultural holidays.  Also included are some parody holidays.  You may not be able to tell the difference.
